Fianlly going for a dual suspension model after years of riding a GT hardtail. I notice there are a lot of options out there- single pivots, virtual pivots, four bar links, horst links. Anyone know what's the best choice for trails, small drops?
Also posting this over at General Discussion forum.

I'm a big fan of the rocker arm style suspension. Having ridden a few different models whilst hanging out at the trails I found it to have the cushiest ride while not being overly squishy.....is that real word? Anyway, most of the other styles that I tried out seemed pretty stiff, not having the priviledge of screwing with other peoples air pressure I can't really say if it was the design or the setup, just what I experienced on the trail. My Trek uses a Rocker arm Design with something called Full float. While this is probably a misnomer it does do some pretty cool stuff. Pedals really well on flat single track, very little or no pedal bob and still eats up palmetto roots and drops real well. I will say however that it's probably a little too heavy and loose for someone who is really into the XC thing. Let's face it, if your bike computer costs more than your cell phone then you probably need to look at a more dedicated XC bike. And realisticly you should probably head over to your LBS and test ride a few bikes before making your decision. Regardless of what I or anyone else says about a certain bike or suspension type, if it doens't fit or feel well to you then it's not worth any amount of $$
