Sooty : from OZ
I decided to go for a ride yesterday and i was off to a new site that i had herd about, it was a new urban/country housing development region with many new houses going up and i was told that their was heaps of dirt jumps and the like their from the construction of the land.
I was sooo pleased i went as their were jumps, banks, and many different things to ride on with one jump being at least 14 ft which i decided to have a crack at.
I jumped on the peddles and i hit the bottom of the dirtpile very fast and up i went "BIG MISTAKE" the rear wheel caught the top of the pile and i drifted to the right of my LZ, next things i thought i was in a washing machine and i did the major tumble ( hmm i wonder if anyone saw) and i now have a very sore butt.
I wish i had my camera with me, next time eh!
cheers sooty [ aka mark ]

Man finding a development area with mounds of good dirt would be a dream. Sorry to hear about your rag doll, the good news is you're in good enough health to share the tale here!

that happened to me recently. i had just gotten back from buffalo, new York and my 2 friends (Robert and Ben) came to my house and the wanted to hang out. so me and my 2 buddies were riding around this park that they were tearing up to put in new sewer lines and the had dug a hole about 50 feet deep and about 200 square foot wide. the dirt mountain was was about half the size of the whole so it had to be at least 300 feet high. we saw a huge slope that went from the top of the hill to the bottom on the ground. and at the end was a huge pile of dirt. so we decided to jump it and see who could go the farthest. mind you the slope and most of the paths we were riding on was packed solid from all the machinery hauling the dirt away from the construction site. and little did i know that it had rained the night before i got back so the dirt pile was soft as hell. so i went flying down the slope and hit this dirt pile and my front tire just sank completely into the mound and i flipped forward and face planted it onto a big stone and here i am with a broken orbital bone, broken nose, a fractured collar bone, and worst of all i broke my bike. but it wouldn't have changed it for the world

I guess that's why construction zone's are considered "No Tresspassing" areas.
